Shankar Subramanian - Head Retail Channel - Nokia India

     

 

Shankar Subramanian is head of Nokia India’s Retail channel. He and his team work on providing a retail environment, where Nokia’s range of products and services are showcased and consumers are assured of the best possible experience.

Shankar joined Nokia as Director CDMA in Jan 2006 and in Aug 2006 he was appointed Director Operator Accounts in which role he was responsible for building strategic partnerships with telecom operators through the creation of joint initiatives supporting subscriber acquisition, penetration of rural markets and mobile phone upgrade programs.

Shankar has over two decades experience in sales, marketing and business development. Before joining Nokia, Shankar worked with Kodak for several years including a couple of years in the U.K. His last position was as Senior Vice President & Business Manager, Consumer & Professional Output, South Asia at Kodak where he was responsible for product marketing management for Kodak’s output products and solutions across the SAARC and ASEAN market. He has also served as V.P. Sales, Consumer & Professional Imaging and India and also as Business Development Director, Emerging Markets out of the U.K.

 

Shankar is an alumnus of the Asian Institute of Management, Manila from where he took his Masters in Business Management. He loves long distance running, music and spending time, especially vacationing with his family. Shankar is married and has two daughters.
