Mr. Ram Iyer is the Executive Vice President - Retail for Vodafone India. He spearheads the overall management of the retail business across the country with over 7500 stores. He is currently spearheading the transformation of Vodafone stores from "Service" to "Service and Sales" philosophy. Prior to joining Vodafone, Ram was the Chief Operating Officer (C.O.O.) of The Collective, a division of Madura Garments Lifestyle Retail Company, which is a subsidiary of the Aditya Birla Group. He was responsible for the overall management of the business. With years of experience in retail, Ram's knowledge of this sector and the business of fashion are immense. He began his stint with The Collective as Director- Operations in February 2008 and took over as the C.O.O. in April 2010. Ram was responsible for setting up stores and managing operations in order to deliver a complete lifestyle experience to customers. He did this with aplomb `The Collective Experience` delivered to guests in the store has been truly exceptional and has set a new benchmark for retail in India.

| An MBA from SPJIMR, Ram graduated in Metallurgical Engineering from the Pune College of Engineering in 1991 and joined TELCO, where he spent a year. He went back to the books and completed his post graduation in 1994. After his post - graduation he found his first love at Marico Industries Limited where he spent 14 years. Ram joined Marico as a Management Trainee and rose to become the Business Head. As Head - Operations, at Kaya Skin Clinic he was responsible for creating & expanding the Indian Operations as well as spearheading a foray into the Retail Product space, which resulted in creating a sustainable & profitable business model at Kaya. Ram also enjoys teaching and has lectured at IIM (Ahmedabad and Bangalore), IIT School of Management (Mumbai) on subjects like Entrepreneurship & Services Operations. He also conducts a course on Services Operations Management at his alma mater, SPJIMR. |
