Elena Maurer – Director Key Account Development – leads, understands and develops clients at the brand and retail marketing specialists of LIGANOVA. Since more than four years the 32- year-old has been leading the realm Key Account Development and is in charge of the development of another realm Visual Merchandising.

Born in Bucharest /Romania in 1976, she attended the international school until the age of thirteen. In 1989, she relocated together with her sister to the US and started a professional tennis career inspired by her uncle, the former tennis player and Boris-Becker-Manager, Ion Tiriac. For a period of more than five years she was regarded as one of the best emerging tennis talents.
After passing her A-levels in New York she had to break off her promising career due to a torn meniscus at the age of eighteen. Thereupon, she was offered several American university places and fully concentrated on her studies in the fields of marketing and sports sponsoring from then on. Thus, she could perfectly benefit from her long lasting experience in the world of sports combining her sense of marketing. Studying for two years at the NYU (New York University) she comes to Germany for the first time. On the part of the sponsoring partner Hugo Boss she organises its sports sponsoring activities for the Davis Cup.

Deeper insights into the fashion industry were acquired by a one and a half year’s occupation at Uli Knecht. Subsequently, she returns to Hugo Boss to the newly developed division „Visual Merchandising“ which meant a turn within the entire brand environment at that time. „The visual conceivability in this field caught my fascination“, she says today, „This was the reason why I evolved the desire to capture people with the beauty of a brand“.


Elena Maurer was not only visually but also strategically responsible for the expansion of visual merchandising on international level and her creative input significantly determined the image of the brand Hugo Boss.

Having passed several stops in Latin America, she went to Asia, Scandinavia und Italy. Back at the headquarters in Metzingen, Elena Maurer was responsible for the window campaign of Hugo Boss worldwide. During the presentation of an innovative lighting concept for Hugo Boss, Elena Maurer met the LIGANOVA team and Managing Director Bodo Andrin for the first time. She was thrilled by the progressive approach of LIGANOVA’S window design. After five years at the Metzingen-based company, Elena Maurer took up a new challenge and joined LIGANOVA in Stuttgart. Under her leadership not only teams but also customer base of the retail marketing agency were growing. Mercedes-Benz Accessories, Tommy Hilfiger und adidas trustfully laid direct consulting on her. „I want our clients to be successful. This means taking heart for direct consulting to optimise marketing.“ As personal USP she states her sure feeling for the client, honest and direct consulting as well as visionary thinking. She still finds her biggest inspiration in physical fitness. Moreover, she gains positive energy through team work and positive customer feedback. “You can be a successful business woman if you act 100 percent passionately“ is her enthusiastic belief.
